Genesis offers a longer daily battery life and a new charger that can rapidly provide 3 hours of charge in seven minutes. The Genesis AI also has a smaller and faster processor chip with more memory. This allows for new innovations in sound processing features such as Edge Mode+ for optimized hearing in difficult to hear environments like restaurants; health monitoring for such activities a tracking steps when exercising and alert for slip and falls.

Neuro Sound Technology
Built off the hearing industry’s most advanced computer chip processor technology—which includes a unique on-board Deep Neural Network (DNN) accelerator engine that mimics the function of the brain’s central auditory system. TECHNOLOGY LEVELS
The Starkey Genesis AI comes in 3 technology levels-premium, advanced and standard. All three technology levels offer Bluetooth wireless connection with Smartphones using the My Starkey app for phone calls, and user ability to change settings and volume of the hearing aids. The multiflex tinnitus Pro features is available in the premium and advanced Genesis technology levels. All three levels also offer a 3-year manufacturer warranty including office visits.
The differences between the 3 different technology levels are not in the outside design or appearance of the hearing aid, but the computer chip on the inside. Most hearing aid brands look almost the same on the outside. And, all major hearing aid brands manufacture sleek, discreet looking device that are lightweight, very comfortable, durable and secure, even when removing eyeglasses.
Generally speaking, the more advanced technologies offer more sophisticated features for managing background noise and adjusting the hearing aid to the individual’s hearing loss. The explanation of each feature can be found below.
To be fit with a hearing aid, the audiologist will need a current hearing test to create the hearing prescription, using Real Ear Measures (REM’s). If you do not have a current hearing test, Peninsula Hearing Services is in-network with many health insurance plans.
